The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is conducting a study of Interstate 40 through Albuquerque from Atrisco Vista Boulevard on the west side to Tramway Boulevard on the east side. The purpose of the study is to explore practical ways to reduce traffic congestion during the morning and evening peak traffic times. This web page will provide project updates and share findings and information as the study progresses.
An early work activity is collecting and analyzing existing condition data to help the NMDOT better understand traffic flow conditions, factors contributing to crashes, and commuter travel patterns. Drivers who use this route as part of their daily commute can help the NMDOT by completing a 5-minute survey. The survey can be found here or button above.
